In the day 2, we mainly concentrated in walking around Phobjikha. Phobjikha is famous with wintering Black-necked Crane. However, during summer season, the valley is quiet with horses and cows. Accordingly RSPN, there are still attractive birds around the valley in the forest. However, unfortunately, tour guides are unfamiliar with good birding spots. My guide wasn't familiar with the area. So, we just walked on a trail in the wetland and drove around the valley whole day. There were just many Oriental Skylark, Hoopoe, Grey-backed Shrike and White Wagtail. Among the Grey-backed Shrike, we found a Brown Shrike, which is probably on the way to north.

In the day 3, we left our accommodation early in the morning at 7:00 a.m.. We targeted to go to Pele La to pick up Himalayan Monal. Unfortunately, weather was even worse. It was deeply foggy and hard for us to see anything. Although we heard call of White-winged Grosbeak, we were unable to see them.

On the way to go down to Wandue Phodorang, we saw Verditer Flycatcher, White-capped Water Redstart, Plumbeous Water Redstart and Crested Bunting. A Lesser Cuckoo was singing from the perch. Interestingly, the call is almost same with our Lesser Cuckoo in Japan, through we don't see the cuckoo in higher elevation.

Near Dochu La, we saw two Mountain Hawk-Eagle were soaring while a male Common Rosefinch was singing from a top of pine tree.

We finally arrived at Thimphu at 3:30 p.m.. Although my birding in this three days was disturbed much due to rain, I was satisfied with relatively good variation for my first birding in Bhutan.
